History

SBW was founded in 1974. The firm has served the religious, governmental and business communities of southern Michigan for more than 40 years and is responsible for millions of dollars of construction across a diverse range of project types each year.

Following nearly 30 years of extensive experience in the United States and Canada, Maurice G. Sauriol established the firm Maurice G. Sauriol, AIA, Architect in 1974. Four years later, the firm was incorporated under the name Maurice G. Sauriol Architect and Associates, Inc.

Having served the firm for many years, in 1988, registered architects Donn E. Bohde and Timothy C. Wagner were each elevated to the position of principal, creating the organization, Sauriol Bohde Wagner Architects and Associates, Inc.

With the retirement of founder Maurice G. Sauriol in 1993 and principal Tim Wagner in 2015, the firm was rebranded and officially became SBW/Architects in 2017.
